Is my API key safe?
Keys are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM and are never sent back to the browser. We recommend creating a dedicated read-only admin/usage key for SpendSentry — cost endpoints don't need inference permissions.
Does SpendSentry get write access to my accounts?
No. We only call read-only billing and usage endpoints (Anthropic cost reports, OpenAI organization costs, OpenRouter credits, GitHub billing usage). SpendSentry can't spend a cent on your behalf.
Which services are covered?
Anthropic (Claude API), OpenAI API, OpenRouter, and GitHub Copilot metered billing (best-effort — GitHub's usage API is still stabilizing). Anything else can be tracked with manual entries or CSV.
How is this different from ccusage or local token counters?
Local counters estimate spend from logs on one machine, for one tool. SpendSentry reads the actual billing APIs across all your services, then adds what counters can't: a month-end forecast, your projected overrun date, and an email before it happens.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel in one click; Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for, then your account drops back to the free dashboard — your data stays.
